Dear Howard Babb Jr.

On September 1, 2009 I took my daughter, Gina Marie Lauriano, to court to answer a charge of Organized Fraud. We drove from New York & I got her to court on her appearance date.
Three weeks prior to the court date, I tried on several occasions to contact her court appointed attorney, J. Ray Shaw, who never returned any of my half dozen phone calls. When I did finally reach him the last time I called & he happened to be in the office, he told me that Gina would get probation & that after the court procedings we would be able to head back to New York.
Not only was Mr. Shaw's legal representation the worst I have ever seen and his lackadaisical attitude, in plain English, sucked, but until I stood up in the court room, after Mr. Shaw refused to address Judge Springstead regarding a probation transfer to New York, Judge Springstead didn't even know the case was being transferred.
In addition, we had to stay in Florida until Friday, September 4th & pay for 3 additional nights in a hotel room to wait for the transfer to be approved, a procedure that Mr. Shaw is well aware of & failed to tell me.
For that, I am writing to you for reimbursement of $ 240.00 for the neglect on Mr. Shaw's part, for failing to inform me that instead of staying overnight and leaving when Gina's case was done, like I was informed, we would be there for the mandatory 72 hours.

Sincerely,
